(August 2021) – Michael Foster, a former 5-star basketball recruit out of Arizona and current forward on the Walnut Creek Ignite, has signed with Perpetual Sports Network, a pioneering media company helping athletes leverage their Name, Image, and Likeness. Foster is a natural fit with Perpetual Sports Network’s objective to deliver a high-quality experience to each individual athlete. At the heart of this mission is Perpetual Sport Network’s Content Hub, Post#Game, powered by a unique app developed by Venuetize (www.venuetize.com) and backed by Perpetual Sports Network’s full team of well-respect-ed content writers and editors to help tell the stories of each athlete in creative and compelling ways. “We are thrilled to begin to tell Michael Foster’s story and create an audience around this remarkable athlete. His hard work and dedication are the epitome of what we are building here and we could not think of a better inaugural athlete to launch our journey,” says David Glynn, Perpetual Sports Network’s President.
The 6-foot 9-inch 18-year-old out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, sets the standard of the pedigree of athletes that will populate Perpetual Sports Network’s Post#Game app. In the first two years of his high school career, Foster racked up an astounding two state championships, where he was voted All-State his sophomore year. Heading into his Junior year, Foster changed schools, moving west to attend pres- tigious Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix, Arizona to compete at a higher level under the professional basketball tutelage of Mike Bibby. At Hillcrest, Foster skyrocketed as a promising NBA talent averaging 32.3 points per game as a senior and earning a spot as a 2020 McDonalds All-American. Heading into the 2021-22 season, Foster left many colleges and universities wanting as he made the leap directly to the Walnut Creek Ignite in the G-League, turning down numerous Division 1 offers.
Basketball is everything to Foster. With almost religious adherence, he emulates the work ethic of basketball legends that came before him. Whether it is to prove to himself or to the trailblazers of the game, he exhibits an incessant desire to improve on all aspects of his already impressive basketball skill and evolve into one of the best to ever play. It’s why he decided to finish his high-school career in Phoenix under Mike Bibby, and why he decided against competing for a collegiate National Title. Making it to the NBA is Foster’s penultimate goal, second only to becoming one of the greats of all time.
The clarity with which Foster can see his future and visualize his success has led to an impressive pro- fessional demeanor for an 18-year-old. Following his sophomore year in high school, Foster decided to pursue the sport in earnest to the highest level he could possibly achieve. As such, he approaches each practice session, game, or shoot-around with an air of seriousness—he’s focused on getting better. In his official commitment to basketball as a career, Foster is forming habits that will be a guiding force in his quest to be a fantastic NBA Player.
